Job Summary

The AME Engineer at Triumph Geared Solutions – Macomb will be responsible for interpreting component maintenance manuals, identifying and/or designing correct tooling and equipment to service components, develop new repairs, managing product development, and providing general engineering support to the shop floor.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Problem solving on customer units, working with shop mechanics on repair issues, and coordinating with customer service, quality, and operations to keep product flowing through the facility and on schedule.
  • Read schematics/prints, follow procedures, and apply computer skills and technical knowledge to competently troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Use of 3D modeling programs, i.e., solid works, Catia, ProE.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred or related aerospace industry experience
  • Proactive, self-starter that can operate with minimal guidance
  • Ability to make appropriate business judgments and decisions independently.
  • Ability to build effective organizational relationships inside and outside the department
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously with rapid changes in priorities
  • Ability to handle adverse and urgent situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office software and personal computer skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain seated for long periods of time while working on a computer or documentation, etc.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipment
  • Must be capable of withstanding long period of viewing data on a computer screen and/or paper format
