Job Summary
The Material Control Clerk is responsible for managing inventory levels, tracking shipments, and ensuring that materials are available for production or distribution. They maintain accurate records of inventory levels, monitor stock levels, and order materials as needed. They also work closely with other departments to ensure that materials are delivered on time and in the correct quantities. The ideal candidate for this position should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. They should also have experience with inventory management software and be able to work independently or as part of a team.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Processes receipt of products, materials, and supplies
- Assist with processing labels on the computer for shipment
- Collaborates and communicates with logistics, contracts, purchasing, stockroom, and others related to shipment and receipt of product
- Tracks, traces, and updates status of incoming and outgoing shipments
- Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, inventory scans, and counting accurately
- Perform ongoing cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity within the warehouse
- Maintain inventory accuracy levels at or above (insert target, e.g., 98-99%)
- Drive compliance with inventory control procedures to enable the elimination of annual physical inventory counts.
- Collaborate with operations and purchasing teams to identify root causes of variances and implement corrective actions.
- Provides additional backup support for shipping, receiving, and stockroom Pulling Kits for Assemblies
- Locate and pull stock from storing to pulling customer orders
- Moving and organizing boxes to keep room in our box storage area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Clean DMV record
- Certified to operate forklift
- Experience in an ERP is preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency
- Able to work independently and within a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain seated for long periods of time while working on a computer or documentation, etc.
- Must have manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
