Job Summary
The Procurement Analyst is a key member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for managing assigned commodities, leading indirect purchasing, and driving cost improvement initiatives across the site. This role expands upon existing buyer responsibilities, taking on more strategic sourcing, supplier development, and leadership within the procurement function.
Duties/Responsibilties
- Indirect & Commodity Procurement Ownership: Lead procurement activities across indirect spend categories while maintaining direct ownership of fasteners and hardware commodities critical to production.
- Cost Savings & PPV Performance: Drive and deliver against defined cost savings and PPV targets through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, demand management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Operational Alignment: Partner closely with operations, production, and planning teams to ensure procurement strategies support manufacturing priorities, minimize disruption, and enable on-time delivery performance.
- Supplier Development & Vendor Implementation: Identify, qualify, and implement new suppliers to enhance competitiveness, mitigate risk, and improve service levels. Continuously evaluate supplier performance and drive accountability.
- CAPEX Project Support: Support capital expenditure projects by sourcing equipment, services, and materials, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budget constraints, and technical requirements.
- Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: Lead sourcing events and commercial negotiations to optimize total cost of ownership while maintaining required quality and delivery standards.
- Inventory & Supply Continuity Management: Ensure reliable supply of fasteners and hardware, balancing inventory levels with cost efficiency and operational requirements.
- Performance Metrics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key procurement metrics, including cost savings, PPV, supplier performance, and on-time delivery. Utilize data to drive informed decision-making.
- Process Improvement & Execution Excellence: Continuously improve procurement processes, systems utilization, and data accuracy to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, fostering strong teamwork and communication to resolve issues, align priorities, and drive results.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 3–10 years in procurement, indirect purchasing, or supply chain roles).
- Proven experience managing indirect procurement and/or commodity purchasing, preferably including fasteners, hardware, or similar high-volume components.
- Demonstrated success in achieving cost savings and PPV targets, with a strong understanding of cost drivers and sourcing strategies.
- Experience supporting or leading CAPEX procurement activities, including supplier selection and project execution.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis) and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience with ERP/MRP and line-of-business systems; familiarity with Power BI or similar tools is an asset.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and drive performance.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
- Demonstrated operational mindset with a clear understanding of how procurement decisions impact production flow, cost structure, and customer delivery.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and build strong internal and external relationships.
- Proven ability to think critically, solve problems, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% as required.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to support business demands and ensure continuity of supply.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain seated for long periods of time while working on a computer or documentation, etc.
- Must have manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipment
- Must be capable of withstanding long periods of viewing data on a computer screen and/or paper format
