Job Summary

The Procurement Analyst at Triumph Geared Solutions – Macomb coordinates the procurement and distribution of aerospace materials, parts, equipment, and supplies for the organization by performing the following duties.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Procurement Ownership: Lead all procurement activities for assigned commodities from requisition through delivery, ensuring alignment with production requirements and business objectives.
  • Requirements & Demand Analysis: Evaluate commodity requirements, including technical specifications, supplier selection, and delivery timelines, to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • Strategic Sourcing & Proposal Evaluation: Solicit, analyze, and evaluate supplier quotations, demonstrating the ability to assess varying levels of complexity and identify the most competitive and compliant proposals.
  • Supplier Qualification & Selection: Identify, assess, and onboard suppliers through structured evaluations and direct engagement, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
  • Commercial Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve optimal total cost of ownership while maintaining required quality and delivery performance. Drive continuous cost reduction initiatives.
  • Contract & Compliance Management: Execute and manage purchase orders and contracts in full compliance with company policies and applicable government regulations, including aerospace industry standards.
  • Supplier Performance Management: Monitor and drive supplier performance to exceed key metrics, including maintaining >95% on-time delivery, while proactively mitigating supply risks.
  • Operational Execution & Control: Maintain rigorous control over procurement documentation, including orders, amendments, and shipping notices, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, planning, quality, and engineering teams to ensure alignment between procurement activities and production priorities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance procurement processes, improve data visibility, and support operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (typically 3–10 years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environment with competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret data, evaluate scenarios, and make sound, timely decisions.
  • Proficiency in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and a solid understanding of how procurement impacts production flow and customer delivery.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis) and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word).
  • Experience with ERP and line-of-business systems; familiarity with Power BI or similar data visualization tools is an asset.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation; experience with DFAR compliance is considered a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, present information, and effectively engage cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and accountability, with a clear understanding of the critical impact of procurement on operational success.
  • Ability to apply practical reasoning and sound judgment in resolving issues involving multiple variables in standardized and dynamic situations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% as required.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to support business demands and ensure continuity of supply.

  • Ability to remain seated for long periods of time while working on a computer or documentation, etc.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipment
  • Must be capable of withstanding long periods of viewing data on a computer screen and/or paper format
