Performs a variety of assembly operations on assemblies or subassemblies and/or build parts for such assemblies according to work instructions.  May make setups and adjustments.  May perform a wide variety of complex tests, checkouts, troubleshooting, and rework on components, and assemblies.  May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilties

  • Follow directions, policies and procedures
  • Familiar with Internal Customer Interfaces, as designed by the process assigned
  • Process forms and document work by utilizing their endoresment, in accordance with the Quality Management System
  • Notify immediaet supervisor of any suspected unacceptable condition noted while performing their duties
  • Acquire and maintain hand tools, if necessary, to complete work assigned
  • Cut and finish raw materials
  • Review blueprints prior to assembly
  • Prep, trim and assemble all special project components
  • Request parts from warehouse
  • Make tools and templates to assist with assembly
  • Assist with training of new employees
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Have a good understanding of blueprints, technical manuals and planning documents with normal supervision
  • Apply different type's conversion coatings and sealants using different types of tools and methods with normal supervision
  • Work in conjunction with higher grade Mechanics to further their job knowledge base through OJT with normal supervision
  • Read and understand blueprints and technical manuals
  • Have a basic understanding of computer processes involved in daily operations




  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, ability to read, write and understand English at a high school graduate level, perform other functions at a high school equivalency level and have over 1 year and up to 2 years of experience in a hand assembly operation, with experience in micrometers, quality manufacturing operations.  
  • Soldering or brazing preferable.
