Hours: Nominally 37 hours per week, additional hours may be required as necessary to meet business commitments.
Travel: Occasional UK and/or Overseas travel to customers and other Triumph sites

Role Summary:
The Head of Test will be responsible for the delivery of the development and qualification test programs required to support the full product lifecycle from New Product Introduction (NPI) through to modifying and supporting in service products on various programmes, including Airbus and other major customers. You will not only be responsible for the capability but also to lead test campaigns.
It is an exciting time at Triumph and the team are relocating to new facilities. This provides a unique opportunity for this person to establish a new facility and architect the future test capabilities for the business.
Requirement of the Role:
• Develop, own and deliver Triumphs Development Test strategy and capability.
• Managing specification, design and commissioning of test rigs and equipment.
• Continuously improve Test processes and procedures.
• Interpret customer's requirements/specification.
• Identify means for verification of requirements.
• Provide estimated hours/costs for bid proposals.
• Plan and execute test plans on time and on budget.
• Create and modify technical documentation (e.g. test processes, procedures and reports).
• Contribute to design reviews and assist programme reviews.
• Establish/Maintain/Coordinate activities with third party providers to support the development testing.
• Participation in cross-functional teams and support problem solving and corrective action activities to resolve design issues, ATP failures and customer returns/failures.
• Responsible for Health & Safety of the Development Test areas.
• Ensure Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People objectives are met.
Requirements of the individual
• A solid engineering background – Qualifications in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Team leadership and development experience.
• Passion for continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to provide effective communication to peers and managers.
• Experience in developing strategies/proposals and securing funding (internal or external).
• Demonstrated experience is standing up new test capability desirable.
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Product knowledge of locks, control valves and actuators desirable.
• DO160 test campaign experience related to Electro-mechanical and/or Hydro-mechanical Products.
• DO254 test experience desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to manage third party service providers (eg Outsourced testing) in a development environment.
• Experience of control and data acquisition products (LabVIEW desirable) .
• Understanding of instrumentation.
• Understanding/Awareness of Aerospace procedures for hydraulic cleanliness.
• Strategies and capability to troubleshoot issues to discriminate between rig or product issues.
