Manager, BU Bus Dev

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements an effective strategic business development plan, which may include performing market research and analysis.
  • Understands industry and customer trends and translates to solutions and business opportunities
  • Interfaces with all customers, existing or new, to develop quotes and proposals; conduct contract negotiations via phone, email, and/or in-person; and execute programs to meet contractual requirements
  • Furnishes development advice, counsel, and general staff support to all departments within the organization in relation to business development and program management
  • Monitors external and internal environment for development of new market segments.
  • Responsible for feasibility studies/business plans for new product development.
  • Develops and oversees new business development initiatives.
  • Attends industry and customer conferences, meetings, and events.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
  • Contributes to team effort through ability to bring energy, support, and improved processes to an experienced staff
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements
  • Demonstrates sound program management leadership skills including risk management and contingency planning to ensure multiple complex projects remain on plan through a team of professionals and personal involvement
  • Builds internal (site level, across Triumph Group) and customer relationships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Preferred Master’s degree in engineering, business, marketing, or a related field.
  • PMP certification
  • Seven years in the industry in a business development, program management or related position.
  • 7+ years business development and/or program management experience in aerospace, government contracting, thermal management, or similar
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills at all levels of the organization
  • Technical understanding/capable of learning product line-up to converse with customers
  • Customer problem solving focus with a strong business acumen
  • Strategic thought process on multiple levels
  • Emotionally intelligent and capable of high pressure/extra effort when proposals are due, or program set-backs necessitate while maintaining professionalism and a positive outlook
  • Experience/able to operate in a multi-level matrix organization while remaining focused on site-level programs
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
  • US Citizen or a Permanent Resident (Green Card)
