Responsibilities

MATERIALS AND PROCESSES

Operate most laboratory equipment including:  Rockwell hardness, microhardness, tensile testing, emission spectroscopy, contamination, metallurgical preparation, etc.  Utilize precision gauging equipment, micrometers, dial indicators, surface plate, microscopes.  Prepare test reports based on specification requirements.  Demonstrate a working knowledge of materials & processes specifications.

DYNAMICS

Devise, set-up and operate digital sine/random and shock test equipment including:  accelerometers hook ups, centrifuge, oscilloscopes, hookups, oscillographs and x-y plotters.  Perform post test disassembly and assist in analysis. Interpret comprehensive data and prepare accurate activity reports on which decisions will be based.  Demonstrate a working knowledge of Mil-Std-810 with respect to dynamic testing, and knowledge of environmental testing of fuel, hydraulic, and pneumatic component parts.

ELECTRONIC

Devise, improvise, and trouble shoot electronic circuits and instrumentation set-ups.  Perform testing of electronic circuits using standard and specialized electronic test equipment following verbal or written instructions.  Demonstrate a working knowledge of electronic principles, data acquisition computers, process control systems, micro processor applications, and automatic test equipment.

MECHANICAL

Assemble component parts based on assembly drawings.  Devise or improvise setup and trouble shoot experimental or limited run assembly and/or test activities based on test documents, oral and/or written instructions.  Perform post test disassembly and assist in analysis.  Interpret comprehensive data and prepare accurate activity reports on which decisions will be based.  Utilize specialized lab test equipment including:  recording oscillographs, oscilloscopes, flow measuring equipment and computerized test equipment where applicable.  Demonstrate a working knowledge of fluid power systems and cryogenic materials.

Qualifications

  • Actively working towards Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, leadership abilities and possess interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of academic performance 2.75 accumulative GPA or better
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
