Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Operations Second Shift Machining Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring production alignment with the delivery requirements as scheduled to meet customer ship dates. This is accomplished through the coordination of manufacturing job requirements along with personnel and other capacity considerations. The following duties are performed personally or through members of their staff:
Major Accountabilities
- Supervises Second Shift Machining team and establishes performance objectives, monitors fulfillment of goals, and conducts performance appraisals. Provides appropriate training and development, coaches and disciplines as needed.
- Review weekly/daily production reports and advise management of anticipated constraints such as material or capacity shortages, engineering changes, and other limitations which may result in missed delivery requirements.
- Interacts with Quality Assurance, Materials, Program Management, Planning, Manufacturing, Assembly and Engineering to ensure product movement through all operational processes as required.
- Maintains and monitors job priorities, on-time delivery for each cell, production adherence and efficiency.
- Develops a wide range of capabilities within the training matrix to support Cell Leads and Manufacturing Manager alike to ensure a seamless flow of product through Machining.
- Exemplifies and fosters teamwork within the Machining Team and broader where possible.
- Promptly responds to concerns, issues, and suggestions and acts to ensure positive employee relations.
- Communicates processes, standards, specifications, and other technical data necessary to meet manufacturing process requirements, FAA and Company quality requirements as well as supporting other functions in the pursuit of excellence.
- Key contributor to teams including but not limited to Daily GEMBA, Machining HPT, and RTRT team.
- Works very closely with Planning team to help support sales commitments and drives alignment of the production schedules.
- Initiates, drives and supports continuous improvement activities to promote process improvements and efficiency gains.
Qualifications
Physical Limitations: Work may require sitting and/or standing for up to 8 hours per day, lifting.
Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma
Minimum Years of Experience Required: At least five (5) years of experience in aerospace manufacturing and supervision.
