Responsibilities

Summary   
Procures component parts and assemblies to ensure the uninterrupted flow of product while maintaining Company goals related to cost, quality and inventory levels. 
 
Essential Functions 
•    Provides support to Operations by developing and issuing RFP/RFQ events to prospective suppliers. 
•    Determines best supply source(s) by executing & analyzing competitive RFP/RFQ’s. 
•    Responsibility as a liaison between the Company and suppliers by negotiating costs and delivery requirements, requiring the ability to recognize priorities and to act upon those needs. 
•    Conducts regular Supplier reviews as scheduled with all assigned Suppliers, and will sponsor productivity improvement plans with those Suppliers when identifying critical areas for improvement. 
•    Facilitates procurement process by issuing purchase orders and amendments in accordance with production requirements and inventory goals. Will also be responsible for responding & reacting to internal schedule changes, and be able to communicate to the Supply Chain these changes, and to support escalation, or downgrades to the current production schedules with external Suppliers. 
•    Conducts regularly scheduled outreach to Supply Chain in support of procurement activities to ensure compliance with delivery schedules of purchased materials with all assigned external Suppliers. 
•    Ensures on time delivery by expediting suppliers as required. 
•    Provides support to Purchasing Manager by advising of any unusual trends in cost, quality or delivery. 
•    Executes / manages Strategic initiatives & projects in support of Procurement strategy  
•    Is responsible for component source development and qualifications of Suppliers as required. 
•    Will sponsor satisfactory resolution to any Supplier quality issues should they arise. 
•    Ability to work efficiently within production time standards to meet production deadlines. 
•    Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook. 
•    Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements 
•    Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met.

•    Strong communication Skills with Supply Base and Internal Stakeholders 
•    Ability to Source Product efficiently 

Qualifications

Required education, certification, and experience 
•    Bachelor’s degree in business or management or equivalent experience. 
•    At least ten (10) years purchasing experience, working in a manufacturing environment, preferably Aerospace related. 
 
Preferred education, certification, and experience 
•    Professional accreditations will be considered (CPM, CPSM, CPIM, etc.) 
•    Experience in Strategic Commodity and or Category Management 
•    Background in Multiple Commodities which include Machining and hardware items 
 
Physical demands 
•    May require lifting, pulling and carrying up to twenty (20) pounds 
•    Frequent bending, climbing stairs, and reaching 
•    Sitting for up to eight (8) hours per day, standing up to eight (8) hours per day, or a combination of sitting and standing.  
•    Ability to hear and see, with or without the assistance of a device 
•    May require overtime to complete important related tasks 
 
Travel 
Light travel may be required
