Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a Quality Systems Manager for our Clemmons, NC location. We are looking for a strong people-oriented process minded leader who can work with minimal direction, has strong interpersonal skills, and can successfully collaborate across organizations and functions. This leader will also be self-motivated and have a strong passion for Quality.
The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) as well as regulatory and compliance requirements for the Clemmons’ site.
This role will require an individual who is comfortable in a highly paced, dynamic, and challenging environment. Reporting to the OpCo Director, Quality, we are looking for a Quality Systems Manager who will coordinate and be responsible for ensuring the Quality Management System aligns with AS9100, FAA, and Customer requirements by utilizing a specialized combination of skills, knowledge, and abilities. The Quality Systems Manager will also be responsible for the functional management of the Quality Systems and Supplier Quality Engineering teams.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for the management of the Quality Management System in accordance with the AS9100 standard and FAA 14 CFR Part 21 regulations, including the Quality Assurance Manual, creating internal audit schedules, performing internal audits, training, and leading audit team members
• Applies a strong knowledge of quality systems to develop and/or improve the systems and products necessary to ensure that the business attains its annual goals and meets internal, customer, and regulatory requirements
• Liaison for all audits performed by external third-party sources, such as Customers, FAA, and Quality Registrar. Completing assessments, matrices and checklists for audit preparation
• Manages supplier quality activities of supplied products and supplier quality issues throughout the facility
• Responsible for the document control of all Quality System Management documents, including creating, revising, and maintaining procedures and forms for Quality
• Interact daily to foster strong working relationships across all departments to meet Quality Requirements and Key Process Indicators
• Responsible for handling the Corrective and Preventive Action process, for Corrective Action Reports (CARs) issued internally, by external sources, and those issued to suppliers, ensuring robust root cause corrective action
• Chair quality metrics monthly and present such information at regularly scheduled Corrective Action Board (CAB) meetings and Management Reviews to address trends, audit progress, corrective action results, Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), DPMO, and continuous improvement activities
• Ability to review and interpret customer contracts and flow-down requirements.
• Participation in APQP across the Triumph site and with suppliers. Encouraging relevant departments to apply APQP principals during the development process, and while working with suppliers
• Works closely with Operations in scrap and rework reduction ensuring robust corrective actions
• Effectively communicate technical issues, solutions, and ideas to a diverse audience including customers, leadership, and cross-functional departments
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements

Qualifications
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of management or leadership experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years in a Quality Engineer role in aerospace manufacturing, complex manufacturing environment, or other highly regulated industry preferred
• BS in a technical field preferred
• 5 years of quality manufacturing experience
• Thorough understanding of AS9100 and FAA 14 CFR Part 21 requirements is highly preferred
• Knowledge of GD&T and proficiency in blue-print reading
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Project management skills
• Ability to analyze data to use in sound decision making
• Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or a Quality Auditor (CQA) a plus
• Six Sigma and Lean experience a plus
• Structured problem-solving tools (PFMEA, DOE, 5-why, etc.)
• Experience and statistical analysis experience highly preferred
• Skills with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint); advanced skills with Excel a plus
• Excellent communications skills and ability to organize and implement multiple concurrent tasks
• Must be U.S. Person in compliance with U.S. ITAR regulations
