Responsibilities
NDT Technician:
Triumph Group designs, engineers, manufactures, repairs and overhauls a broad portfolio of aviation and industrial components, accessories, subassemblies, systems and aircraft structures. Summary:
Performs Nondestructive Testing inspections utilizing Fluorescent Penetrant and Magnetic Particle inspection methods in accordance with written procedures to meet Customer, Nadcap, FAA, and internal processing requirements.
Assures product quality by utilizing a specialized combination of skill, knowledge, interpretation, attention to detail, communication, and technical ability. Develops and maintains the systems as necessary to ensure continued improvement and compliance with written requirements.
Essential Functions:
• Promotes and executes quality assurance philosophy
· Must be able to successfully obtain NDT Level 2 certification IAW NAS410, with minimum experience (OJT hours) and required certification testing (General, Specific, & Practical) for Fluorescent Penetrant and Magnetic Particle testing/inspection.
• Vision requirements per NAS410 must be met:
o Color Perception Personnel shall be capable of adequately distinguishing and differentiating colors used in the process involved
o 20/25 (Snellen) at 16" (40.64 cm)) +/- 1" (2.54 cm) *
o Jaeger No. 1 at not less than 12” (30.48 cm) *
* In at least one eye, natural or corrected.
• Assures product quality and manufacturing accuracy by properly interpreting NDT inspection results to the applicable specifications and drawing requirements.
• Maintains product quality nondestructive testing techniques, inspection reports by keeping accurate records and files.
• Prepare written instructions, organize, and report inspection results
• Maintains process controls and NDT processing inspection equipment per written specifications.
• Ensures that inspections and equipment conform to standards by correctly reading blueprints and applicable specifications.
• Solves problems by working closely with Customers, Engineering, Repair & Overhaul, and Manufacturing departments.
• Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met

Supervisory responsibility:
The NDT Level 2 role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Required education, certification, and experience:
• Previous NDT Level 2 Certification in Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant Inspection methods per NAS410 or SNT-TC-1A
Preferred education, certification, and experience:
• Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing Engineering or Military experience
• Two (2) years in a Nondestructive testing role in manufacturing or the aerospace industry.
• Working knowledge of NAS 410, Nadcap, and AS9100
• Working knowledge using various tool for Root Cause/Corrective Action investigations
Physical demands:
• May require lifting, pulling, and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds
• Standing up to eight (8) hours per day, sitting up to eight (8) hours per day, or a combination of sitting and standing.
