Responsibilities

Summary  
Triumph Actuation Systems – Clemmons is seeking candidates for a Procurement Internship. This internship will provide a college-level student with practical experience related to his or her degree in business administration or business management that will enhance and complement their classroom learning.

Description:
Summer internship in the Triumph – Clemmons Procurement department, which will include rotations thru the following areas direct materials, new product introduction, supply chain analytics and strategic sourcing.  
The Procurement department activities will include items such as reviewing open order reports, reviewing inventory levels for shortages and excess, assembling quote packages and updating information in ERP system. It will also include communicating critical information verbally and in written form to internal stakeholders (other departments) and external stakeholders (suppliers). Strategic activities will include supporting negotiations with suppliers, commodity management alignment and longer-term planning. Finding and collecting data and then converting it to useful information to support decision making will be a critical job function. Other activities may be assigned as required and depending on demonstrated capability.
The conclusion of the internship will end with a presentation by the intern and hopefully the development of Procurement, Purchasing and Supply Chain skills needed to succeed in a future Procurement career.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Job Requirements:
    •    Currently enrolled in an accredited program in business administration or business management
    •    Highly desirable if majoring in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Management or Data Analytics
    •    Completed up to junior year of college
    •    Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated fluency in English.
    •    Solid understanding of business principles demonstrated through coursework or project work 
    •    Interest in developing business acumen related to Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain and Logistics
    •    Experience with Excel tools or data collection/ data analytics tools 
    •    Ability to use critical thinking skills to solve problems 
    •    Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
