Triumph Group is looking for a talented and energetic Engineer to support our Dynamics, Environmental and other qualification testing activities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing tools, fixtures, along with appropriate hydraulic and electrical schematics to setup and qualify Triumph’s aerospace hydraulic components.

This position focuses on advanced understanding, interpretation, and analysis of dynamic testing.  Must have skills and experience in hydraulic test equipment setup and automation. The qualified candidate must be a self-motivated individual who thrives in an environment that allows you to work both independently and collaboratively.


Essential Functions       

  • Design tooling and fixturing for dynamic testing (vibration, acceleration, and shock) of Triumph’s commercial and military aerospace hydraulic components that may be operating with pressure and flow during testing.
  • Design software in real-time (LabView, DasyLab, Operator Interface, Database) to collect and process data after test completion, review and interpret test data. Communicate findings to Project Engineer and/or client.
  • Experience with Environmental Testing of temperature, humidity, altitude, explosive atmosphere, corrosive atmosphere, salt fog, sand/dust (per MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, etc.) and coordinate with testing facilities for cost and scheduling.
  • Support Test technicians, Test Engineers, and Design Engineers in hydraulic and electrical equipment integration and function during outside testing.
  • Advanced knowledge of Dynamics principles; strong knowledge of all potential aspects of safety, complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
  • Strong mathematical skills; able to design and use all standard and complex testing equipment.
  • Experience with hydraulic and electrical components used on hydraulic test stands such as electric motors, hydraulic valves, I/O functions for drive speed, pressure transducers, load cells, flow meters and thermocouples.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical & hydraulic test equipment and components.



  • Must be able to respond effectively to unanticipated, time-sensitive, and mission-critical outside lab testing needs in a rapidly changing, high intensity environment.
  • Must be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with other members of the engineering team, as well as with production personnel and senior management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including effective communications in English with the ability to explain complex principles in common language.
  • Manage workload among changing priorities, alternating between hands-on verification, validation, software development and automation.


Required education, certification, and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.  Additional experience in lieu of education may be considered.
  • 6+ years of experience in Dynamic and Environmental Testing related to hydraulic equipment or components; aerospace experience preferred.
  • Experience with automated control systems and hardware integration with Dasylab and/or Labview a plus.


Physical demands

  • May require lifting, pulling, and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Frequent bending, climbing stairs, pulling, pushing, and reaching overhead.
  • Standing and or other active work for up to eight (8) hours per day.  Sitting up to eight (8) hours per day, or a combination of sitting and standing.



Up to 25% travel required.
