Triumph Group is looking for a talented and energetic Test Engineer to support all phases of the product development and qualification testing. The successful candidate will have Electrical layout skills with experience in hydraulic test equipment automation. This position focuses on software and hardware design, with an emphasis on integrating instrumentation to test new hydraulic product designs. The qualified candidate must be a self-motivated individual who thrives in an environment that allows you to work both independently and collaboratively.

Essential Functions
• Software development (DasyLab, LabView, PLC, Operator Interface, Database).
• Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical test equipment and components.
• Full lifecycle application development. Designing, coding and debugging applications in various software languages.
• Experience with hardware devices such as fluid power control and measurement including PLC’s, DAQ, and other communication devices.
• Capable of translating product development and qualification specifications into a compliance automation hardware and software solution.
• Design software in a real-time control and data acquisition close loop systems.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies for hydraulic product testing applications.
• Support Test technicians and Design Engineers in equipment integration.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
• Knowledge in developing test program for instrumentation such as Pressure Transducers, Flow Meters, Torque Transducers, Temperature (Thermocouple).
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) such as Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, GE, Siemens, WAGO or Modicon.
• Experience with signal conditioning of instrumentation such as drive speed, pressure transducers, load cells, flow meters and temperature sensors.


• Must be able to respond effectively to unanticipated, time-sensitive and mission-critical test stand repair needs in a rapidly changing, high intensity environment.
• Must be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with other members of the engineering team, as well as with production personnel and senior management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including effective communications in English with the ability to explain complex principles in common language.
• Manage workload among changing priorities, alternating between hands-on verification, validation, software development and automation.

Required education, certification, and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Software, Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Additional experience in lieu of education may be considered
• Three to Five years’ experience in test environment related to automation of hydraulic equipment or components; aerospace experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience developing in the LabVIEW environment; candidate will be responsible for the design, documentation, programming, and testing of automated systems.
• Experience with automated control systems and hardware integration
• Dasylab and Labview experience is a plus


Physical demands
• May require lifting, pulling, and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds
• Frequent bending, climbing stairs, pulling, pushing, and reaching overhead.
• Standing and or other active work for up to eight (8) hours per day. Sitting up to eight (8) hours per day, or a combination of sitting and standing.
