Applies strong knowledge of quality systems to develop and improve the systems and products necessary to ensure that the business attains its annual goals, while meeting Regulatory, Customer, and Industry requirements.  Develops and maintains the systems as necessary to ensure continued improvement and compliance with AS9100/ISO9001.


  • Promotes and executes quality assurance philosophy throughout the organization
  • Champions the Q-Pulse System to include daily calls, audits, root cause corrective action, etc. as well as training other individuals on the use of the system
  • Creates, maintains, and communicates the internal audit schedule
  • Leads and assists with audits and checklists, both internally and externally, including the completion of customer matrices
  • Champions both internal and external corrective actions to ensure proper initiation, investigation, true root cause analysis, implementation, follow-up, and effectiveness
  • Champions the management and training for acceptance authority media (stamps)
  • Leads the training for onboarding and maintenance training of Foreign Object Debris/Damage
  • Responsible for creating and revising procedures as appropriate to the business with continuous improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for the maintenance of document control
  • Supports, solves, troubleshoots, and develops process improvements with other departments, suppliers, and customers as necessary
  • Plays an active role on quality management teams within the organization and keeps the management team abreast of significant issues or developments
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and collate data for monitoring targets
  • Contributes and presents quality metrics as requested for Corporate Reporting, Internal Reporting, and for the Management Review
  • Provides support with customer returns
  • Responsible for the assistance or completion of customer surveys
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards
  • Leads and/or assists with various training activities in the support of Quality Awareness
  • Assists with the investigation of Out of Tolerance Conditions (OOT's) with calibration
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team
  • Supports in the implementation of APQP and PPAP
  • Contributes to the team effort by maintaining a positive outlook
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met

Required Education, Certification, and Experience

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Manufacturing/Engineering or technical field, or the equivalent work-related experience


Preferred Education, Certification, and Experience

  • Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or a Quality Auditor (CQA)
  • Two (2) years in a Quality Assurance role in a mechanical, manufacturing, or aerospace industry
  • Formal/Accredited AS9100 auditor training
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100
  • Working knowledge of the DMAIC, 8 Disciplines, and A3 Problem Solving Approach
  • Working knowledge of various tools for achieving Root Cause Corrective Action implementation and analysis
  • Working knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 21 & other FAA regulatory requirements
  • Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing skills
  • Experience working directly with customers and suppliers


Physical Demands

  • May require lifting, pulling, and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Frequent bending, climbing stairs, and reaching overhead
  • Standing up to eight (8) hours per day, sitting up to eight (8) hours per day, or a combination of sitting and standing
