Develops, implements, and maintains necessary policies, programs, procedures, reports, recordkeeping, and training to comply with federal, state, and local safety, health, and environmental regulations.


1. Develops, implements, maintains, and manages programs and policies for monitoring and preventing physical, chemical, and biological hazards at the facilities such as the safety, environmental, and health programs.

2. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws in regards to environmental, health, or safety matters.

3. Responsible for investigating and evaluating all new incoming materials to maintain compliance.

4. Manages the permitting requirements for facilities.

5. Responsible for managing the local Risk programs and writing corresponding risk procedures in areas such as Contingency and Disaster Recovery Programs, air quality evaluations, hazard assessment, OSHA, EPA, NCDENR, DOT, etc.

6. Responsible for Hazard Waste management, documentation, and communication.

7. Responsible for all Health, Safety, and Environmental training.

8. Provides compliant operational solutions for metal processing with regard to safety and compliance issues.

9. Performs field and safety measurements and evaluations. Makes recommendations to management regarding new resources/compliance issues and budgeting matters. Responsible for executing safety related capital expenditure requests.

10. Provides technical guidance to management and employees regarding health-related problems and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), clothing, or accessories.

11. Maintains OSHA logs.

12. Implements Automatic External Defibrillator program and protocol.

13. Provides annual Industrial Hygiene Surveys.

14. Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook.

15. Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.

16. Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met.


Minimum Education Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Safety, Health, and Environmental studies or related disciplines. A thorough knowledge of OSHA and EPA guidelines.


Minimum Years of Experience Required: Three to five years working in a manufacturing environment in an Environmental, Health, and Safety capacity.
