Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading and coordinating activities related to production assembly & test as they relate to Triumph Fluid Power & Actuation products.


Essential Functions
• Proficient in reading machining and assembly drawings, understanding tolerance stack-ups, fits and clearances, and GD&T
• Demonstrates a good understanding of inspection methods and equipment used to verify component compliance to engineering specifications/drawings
• Ability to utilize tools necessary to assemble and disassemble units while conducting investigations of assembly/test issues
• Ability to assess and if necessary, correct minor cosmetic defects on components that do not affect fit or function.
• Proficient with the use of Creo Cad software and working with part and assembly models.
• Ability to develop tooling and fixturing that would be required to support the assembly and testing processes
• Ability to work with assemblers and test maintenance to troubleshoot and remedy acceptance test issues, including verifying supplier testing is accurate for purchased components
• Familiar with commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the machining / fabrication environment and secondary processes. Understands dimensional tolerancing and can assess product drawings for manufacturability
• Understands and applies production techniques such as 5S, PFMEA, Continuous Improvement, Six-Sigma and Lean concepts
• Works on special projects assigned by production engineering manager to facilitate customer requirements.
• Support the Engineering Change Notification (ECN) process by reviewing drawings for impact to assembly and testing methods, tooling and fixturing.
• Support QA through root cause investigation using 5-why, 8D or fishbone diagrams and implementing corrective actions.
• Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements
• Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met.

Qualifications

Required education, certification, and experience
• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Three (3) years as a manufacturing engineer with a strong background in troubleshooting issues in an assembly type environment.

Supervisory responsibility
The Manufacturing Engineer role has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Physical demands
• May require lifting, pulling and carrying up to forty (40) pounds
• Frequent bending, climbing stairs, and reaching
• Sitting for up to eight (8) hours per day, standing up to eight (8) hours per day, or a combination of sitting and standing.
• Ability to hear and see, with or without the assistance of a device

 

Travel
MInimal travel required.
