Position Profile: Electrical Engineer
Triumph Title: Engineer, Electro-Mechanical 2
FLSA: Exempt
Reports to: Manager, Project Engineering

Summary:
Responsible for proposal, sizing, conceptual design, specifying, selecting, and sustaining electrical and electronic assemblies in civil/military aerospace for complex components, complete assemblies, and portions of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.   
 

Essential Functions: 
•    Performs conceptual design, specification, and design sustainment on complex printed circuit boards, complete assemblies, and portions of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
•    Conducts failure investigations and assists in troubleshooting of hydraulic power packs (electric motor-driven pump), printed circuit boards, and electric motor & controllers in a fast-faced production environment.
•    Safely works with products using high voltages (+270/-270 VDC), by rigorously following all regulations and procedures.  Attention to detail in complex systems, to safely complete diagnostics and troubleshooting.
•    Produces detailed product proposals, in cooperation with the lead engineers and technical fellows.
•    Develops Qualification & Acceptance test plans and supports the associated testing & test reports.
•    Prepares effective presentations & design reviews for internal teams and external customers.
•    Ability to work efficiently to meet cost, schedule, and budget constraints.
•    Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook.
•    Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
•    Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met.

Competencies
•    Experience in Product Life Management (PLM) Systems and CAD Systems.  Direct knowledge in SmarTeam and ProE/Creo preferred.
•    Experience in design, layout, and analysis of microelectronics, control electronics, and electrical machines.  Direct knowledge in Siemens DxDesigner, PADS, Visio, Spice, Matlab, MS Office, and Ansys software preferred.
•    Experience in 3D printing/additive manufacturing and design.
•    Effective time management.
•    Effective project management skills.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills including effective communications in English with the ability to explain complex engineering principles in common language.
 

Qualifications

Supervisory responsibility:
The Associate Engineer role has no supervisory responsibilities.


Required education, certification, and experience:

•    Bachelor’s Degree, from an accredited university, in Electrical engineering; or the equivalent of direct and applicable experience in Aerospace.
•    No experience necessary.

Physical demands:
•    May require lifting, pulling, and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds
•    Standing and or other active work for up to eight (8) hours per day.  Sitting up to eight (8) hours per day, or a combination of sitting and standing. 

Travel
Up to 10% domestic and/or international travel required.

Must meet all regulatory requirements.
