We are currently seeking a Technical Writer support our Park City, UT Location. This role will report through our Engineering department in Park City, UT with options to work from offices in Park City, UT, Las Colinas, TX and Macomb, MI. Up to 25% Travel may be required.



  • Plan, schedule, compile and edit maintenance manuals to support all TGS designed and/or maintained products.
  • Responsible for writing, editing and producing quality technical service documents, operations, maintenance, inspection, repair and parts manuals using ATA specifications for TGS product to ensure airworthy operation condition of customer equipment.
  • Review blueprints, specifications, block diagrams, engineering drawings, sketches, schematics, Bills of Material, manuals, and three-dimensional orthographic and isometric projection views of equipment, parts, and assemblies in order to interpret and understand function, relationship, and assembly/disassembly sequences refining and translating information into easily understood steps and/or concepts for Component Maintenance Manuals including full disassembly/assembly instructions and illustrated parts lists.
  • Projects include planning and executing new large complicated publications and revisions to existing manuals.
  • Visualize and plan illustration groupings.
  • Analyze blueprints and other engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and consistency of data for incorporation into manuals. Review, evaluate, and incorporate Engineering changes and customer requests in appropriate publications.
  • Support the complete workflow process to ensure successful completion of the projects or publications through the TGS distribution process. This includes support for various quality processes to ensure accuracy, conciseness, style, clarity, ease of use and timely delivery of each publication revision cycle.
  • Produce photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, schematics, or breakout sketches of assemblies, subassemblies or parts to illustrate concepts, assemblies or maintenance sequences.
  • Other duties may be assigned.



  • Associate's degree from a two-year college or university
  • At least 3 years experience in Technical Writing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Airframe & Power plant License preferred
  • General knowledge of aerospace, commercial and military standards and specifications.
  • Familiarity with aerospace commercial maintenance manual standards/guidelines.
    • (i.e. ATA100, iSpeciSpec 2200, and S1000D)
  • Ability to read blue prints required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Photoshop and Adobe Pro proficiency.
  • Must have graphics experience (IE putting graphics of parts/etc. into a manual and appropriate callouts/leader lines).
  • Ability to express technical concepts in both technical and non-technical terms.
  • Excellent proofing skills of technical documents for grammar and spelling is required.


  • Ability to review technical documents using MS Word, Visio and Excel utilizing format function, form functions, hyperlink functions, template functions, markup functions and use of captions and references.
  • Excellent interviewing and listening skills, ability to interact successfully with appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMESME) are required
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to perform document validation, ensure output (company documentation and structure) meets customer requirements /confirmation that the product works as intended against design requirements.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and apply them to company procedures and processes.
  • Complete tasks as assigned with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Strong organizational and work management skills required.
  • The ability to understand, follow instructions and concentrate are required.
  • The ability to get along with others and be part of a team is required.
  • Maintenance experience on gearbox and actuation products preferred.
  • Access to Export Control Information.
  • Regular attendance at the worksite.
  • Knowledge of Simplified English.
