Responsibilities include regular interactions with senior management. Focus on supplier development in a manufacturing or service process. Works with suppliers to continuously improve performance/processes, implement process controls, conduct capability/capacity studies and adherence to quality assurance plans to meet the overall cost, quality and business objectives of the products, services within Triumph.

Strong customer, operation and supplier relationship management; familiar with quality management system(s); lean six sigma operational experience.  Lead and support continuous improvement projects at Triumph and at the supplier.

Able to demonstrate familiarity and hand's-on experience with key commodity groups (machining, cast/forge, engineered items, outside services, etc) to support supplier improvement initiatives and process adherence.

Demonstrate business acumen and agility in working within a matrix and cross-functional environment to proactively (and reactively) address supplier quality, service, delivery and other critical supply issues.


Ability to understand and work within diverse cultural landscape and all organizational levels to seek opportunities for improvement and leverage the entire enterprise/resources for problem resolution when and where required.

Supports new product introduction, strategic sourcing and work transfers by supporting cross-functional teams.

Support the procurement initiative on transforming our supplier base (strategic, work transfer, etc) through supplier engagement, assessments and development in line with compliance, risk management, cost, quality, and delivery targets.

Acts with customers in mind; promotes customer focused business practices; takes time to establish personal contact with key internal customers at all levels of management and ensure organizational and business needs are being met; constantly looking for "voice of the customer" with respect to continuous improvement opportunities.

Conduct desktop or onsite capability and capacity analysis at suppliers pertaining to manufacturability and technical capabilities, to ensure quality product is delivered per demand.

Ability to review supplier manufacturing process and associated sub-tiers to ensure adequacy of equipment and processes; evaluation of single point of failure, bottlenecks, capacity and constraints with personnel and machines; capacity tools and shop loading.

Review supplier equipment and determine if it is being maintained and develop any root cause corrective actions (RCCA) with the supplier.

Partner with suppliers on best practices within their commodities that supports the site.



Expedite supplier late deliveries to reduce or eliminate any delivery risk to our customer; Work with the supplier and assist site buyer to get an accurate Line of Balance (LOB) and Work In Process (WIP);

  • Review critical parts that will impact production and assess inch stone plan for technical accuracy with supplier and buyer;
  • Work to resolve part constraint at Suppliers due to technical/business process issues;
  • Coordination with 3rd parties for delivery assurance tasks at suppliers;
  • Work with supplier to mitigate these risks and escalate to senior management as required.


Monitor and report on Key Supplier Performance for OTD, OTIF & Quality. Assures the effectiveness of Supplier Quality Management Systems (AS9100/AS9110/AS9003/ISO9001) and Quality tools. 

Assist Suppliers in the development and implementation of continuous improvement objectives and action plans; Provide for the training and implementation of a formal root cause corrective action (RCCA e.g. 8D, A3) problem solving discipline in the supply base; Support analysis and review of quality to verify compliance, monitor performance and detect potential process issues.



  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University is required
  • Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in engineering, technical operations, quality and/or supply chain with specific experience in supplier performance measurement
  • Proactive supplier development through Lean/CI practices and tools
  • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred
  • Familiar with AS9100 compliance and requirements
  • Strong presence with the ability to interact with Senior Leadership
  • Business and Project/Program Management preferred
  • Word, Power Point and Excel (pivot tables, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Teaming and ability to lead and learn quickly
  • Ability to work independently and complete multiple assignments on time.

•    50% Travel to supplier location; regionally based
